SCHECKTER FINISHES 10th FOR VISION RACING IN SEASON FINALE AT CHICAGOLAND SPEEDWAY

VISION RACING POST-RACE REPORT – Sept. 10, 2006 (Chicagoland Speedway)

JOLIET, Ill. – Scheckter started today’s affair in seventh, battled understeer for much of the race and hung on to round out the top-ten. It was Sheckter’s ninth top-ten finish of the season; a year that also saw him score back-to-back top fives and the team’s best ever finish of third at The Milwaukee Mile.

His 10th place finish in championship points gives Vision Racing its best ever points finish in the team’s second year. Scheckter’s best points finish in five seasons of IndyCar competition is seventh in 2003.

Vision Racing’s sights are set on more improvement this off-season heading into the 2007 IndyCar Series season.

Race Results and Quotes (Sept. 13, 2006):

Peak Antifreeze Indy 300 presented by Mr. Clean:
1. Dan Wheldon – No. 10 Target Chip Ganassi Racing 2. Scott Dixon – No. 9 Target Chip Ganassi Racing 3. Sam Hornish, Jr. – No. 6 Marlboro Team Penske 4. Helio Castroneves – No. 3 Target Chip Ganassi Racing 5. Ed Carpenter – No. 20 Vision Racing Dallara/Honda/Firestone (Started: 12th) 10. Tomas Scheckter– No. 2 Vision Racing Dallara/Honda/Firestone (Started: 7th)

-Pole Position: Sam Hornish, Jr. – No. 6 Marlboro Team Penske

Ed Carpenter – No. 20 Vision Racing Dallara/Honda/Firestone

On race:
“It was fun, but it was a long day. In the middle of the race we dropped back pretty far in the middle of the pack, but we made a lot of good changes in the first pit stop. After that, the car was really good, but we just lost touch with the leaders. We struggled a little bit with the green flag pit stops and lost track position, but when we got that last yellow, I knew we were going to have a shot at fifth (place). I got a really go restart and got up to fifth for the finish. Before the start of this race I said that I wouldn’t have been happy unless we came out of here with at least a fifth place finish and we did that so this is a really good way to end the season. I just have to thank all of my guys. They put a lot of hard work into this speedway car. It was an awesome set up. Anyone watching this race could see that I could go anywhere that I wanted.”

Wanting to race more:
“Yeah, this makes me want to keep racing, for sure. It wasn’t a long enough season for me, especially since I missed the first two races. So, really, it was only a 12 race season for me. That’s a lot shorter than what I like, but we are testing next week at Mid-Ohio (Sports Car Course) so I’m not going to be out of the car for too long. It’s always good to end the season on a good note because it keeps the guys happy and gives them a lot of motivation to improve next year just as much as we did in the last off-season.”

On best-ever IndyCar Series finish:
“Like I said before we started racing this weekend, I expected to come out of the last race with a top-five finish. We’ve had cars that are capable of doing that all year, especially on the speedways. There were a couple of times where I made mistakes and that costs us so I knew I had to come to Chicago and not make mistakes. The team gave me an awesome car and thanks to that last yellow flag, we had a good pit stop, the cars got bunched back up and I was able to have a great restart and drive back up to fifth. It was a lot of fun today. We ended the season on a high note. The whole team should really be proud of themselves for what they accomplished this year. I’m really proud of them.”

Tomas Scheckter – No. 2 Vision Racing Dallara/Honda/Firestone

On race:
“Today was pretty good. It was a good job on the part of everyone. We finished in the top-ten in championship points and I’m happy with that. I just have to thank everybody on the crew and Ed (Carpenter) as well. We really worked well together and you can see that our cars really got better and better as the season went on. Hopefully we can keep this situation for next year and keep improving from there.”

SCHECKTER TAKES 17th AT INFINEON

VISION RACING POST-RACE REPORT – Aug. 27, 2006 (Infineon Raceway)

SONOMA, Calif. – Vision Racing drivers, Ed Carpenter and Tomas Scheckter, finished 12th and 17th respectively at Infineon Raceway for the Indy Grand Prix of Sonoma this afternoon. Carpenter started the race in 16th and drove a consistent race in the No. 20 Vision Racing Dallara/Honda/Firestone by advancing four spots and earning a new best finish at the 2.26-mile road course.

Scheckter’s efforts on track did not prove as fruitful. Starting in the 18th spot after an electrical failure did not allow him to qualify; Scheckter jumped out early and was running in the 12th spot by lap fifteen. However, a flat right front tire sent him to the pits on lap seventeen. On lap 30, Scheckter returned to the pits with a left rear brake line failure.

The team quickly took the car back to the garage for repair and rallied to get the No. 2 Vision Racing Dallara/Honda/Firestone back into the race on lap 48. Scheckter then ran until additional finishing spots and championship points were out of contention. He returned to the pits and finished the race with 16 laps remaining.

Scheckter remains in the top-ten in IndyCar Series driver championship points, but drops from eighth to tenth. Scheckter is just six points behind Danica Patrick heading into the final race of the season. Meanwhile, Carpenter remains in the 14th spot in driver championship points.

IndyCar Series action gets underway again on Sunday, Sept. 10th at Chicagoland Speedway for the final race of the season; the Peak Antifreeze Indy 300. Both Carpenter and Scheckter look to get the team a pair of top-five finishes in the 200-lap/300-mile event. Coverage will air Sunday, Sept. 10, at 1:30 p.m. (EDT) on ABC Sports, IMS Radio Network, XM Satellite Radio channel 145 and on the web at www.IndyCar.com.

VISION RACING COMPLETES FIRST DAY OF PRACTICE IN PREPARATION FOR INDY GRAND PRIX OF SONOMA

VISION RACING POST-PRACTICE REPORT – August 25, 2006 (Infineon Raceway)

SONOMA, Calif. – Settling into the tricky 2.3-mile road course of Infineon Raceway, Vision Racing and drivers, Tomas Scheckter and Ed Carpenter, completed a productive day of practice in preparation for Sunday’s running of the Indy Grand Prix of Sonoma. The pair took advantage of two practice sessions today to dial in their respective cars and set-ups for Saturday’s practice and qualifying sessions.

Scheckter led the Vision Racing duo in the No. 2 Vision Racing Dallara/Honda/Firestone with the 12th fastest lap of the day at 104.310 mph. Carpenter logged a best speed of 102.702 mph which put him at 18th on the speed chart. Scheckter and Carpenter are both eager to take to the track tomorrow in search of faster speeds and improved results.

The team recorded a total of 85 laps between both the No. 2 (42 laps) and No. 20 (43 laps) Vision Racing Dallara/Honda/Firestone machines. A total of 18 IndyCars are competing this weekend and today those 18 entries logged a combined 776 laps. IndyCar Series action resumes on Saturday with another practice session at 9:30 a.m. (PDT) while qualifying for the Indy Grand Prix of Sonoma begins at 12:05p.m. (PDT).

Practice Results and Quotes (Aug. 25, 2006):

Tomas Scheckter – No. 2 Vision Racing Dallara/Honda/Firestone Top Speed: 104.310 mph Top Time: 01:19.3788 Total Laps: 42 laps Overall Rank: 12th on speed chart Top Speed in Practice: 107.662 mph – Scott Dixon (No. 9 – Target Chip Ganassi Racing) On practice sessions:
“Today was a good day. We tried a massive amount of things just to find the right base set-up that we wanted, but I was pretty happy with how things went. We definitely were able to find a better direction for the car and that should help us heading into tomorrow.”

Ed Carpenter – No. 20 Vision Racing Dallara/Honda/Firestone Top Speed: 102.702 mph Top Time: 01:20.6218 Total Laps: 43 laps Overall Oval Rank: 18th on speed chart Top Speed in Practice: 107.662 mph – Scott Dixon (No. 9 – Target Chip Ganassi Racing)

On practice sessions:
“I wish we could have been quicker today. Things started off well, but as the day went on I got pretty frustrated. We’ve been running so well and then to come here and not be as good right off the bat is disappointing. I think I’m catching up to where I was at Watkins Glen, but we’ve got to improve tomorrow.”

VISION RACING READY TO TACKLE THE TWISTS AND TURNS OF INFINEON

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (Aug. 23, 2006) – Vision Racing heads to Sonoma Wine Country and the 2.3-mile Infineon Raceway with its sights set on a pair of top-five finishes this weekend in the Indy Grand Prix of Sonoma. Entering the 13th of 14 IndyCar Series events, team drivers Tomas Scheckter and Ed Carpenter are also eager to continue their climb in the IndyCar Series driver championship point standings.

The team is entering the final two races of the season with five top-ten starts and eight top-ten finishes in a row. Not to mention, Scheckter has back-to-back top-five finishes late this season, including the team’s best ever finish of third. Consistent finishes the latter half of the season have allowed Scheckter to move up steadily in the point standings where he and the No. 2 Vision Racing Dallara/Honda/Firestone now sit in the eighth spot; the highest-ever for a Vision Racing entry.

Infineon Raceway will host the third of three IndyCar Series road/street courses for 2006 and if Scheckter’s strong performances on the previous two road/street courses are any indication, then he should have a formidable run on Sunday. On the Streets of St. Petersburg, Scheckter started eighth and drove to fourth where he was running before contact with Buddy Rice ended his race with just three laps to go. At Watkins Glen International, he started 15th and quickly drove to the front; leading 12 laps and eventually rounding out the top-ten.

Scheckter noted, “We’ve been really improving all season long so I’m looking forward to going to Infineon. I have some unfinished business there so I’m ready to get back there and have a better finish this year. I’ve also had some good showings at the road and street courses earlier this season so I expect good things from myself and the team at Infineon this weekend.”

In his first attempt at Infineon Raceway last season with Panther Racing, Scheckter started 14th, but finished 16th after suffering suspension failure. However, his performances of late should give him the momentum he needs to turn his luck at Infineon around.

Carpenter, like his teammate, has also had his share of strong performances in the second half of the season. In fact, he’s on his way to having the best season of his young career in 2006. Carpenter has continued to show much improvement this season, especially on road courses, including his best-ever finish of sixth at Watkins Glen earlier this year in the No. 20 Vision Racing Dallara/Honda/Firestone.

“I think I have improved a little this year,” Carpenter noted. “I feel like I haven't had that many laps on the road course. I managed to have a really good finish at Watkins Glen just by being smart and racing the race. I plan to have some more speed at Infineon than what I had at Watkins Glen, but I just need to run a smart solid race, and we will get another good finish.”

Carpenter has driven his way to several good starts and finishes this season. He currently has five top-ten finishes and a streak of three consecutive top-ten starts, including a career-best start of fourth recently at Michigan International Speedway. The consistency has allowed Carpenter to move from 15th to 14th in the driver point standings.

Carpenter said, “With only two races left, I really would like to move up a few more spots in points. To accomplish that, I really need to have a solid run at Infineon. We had good cars at Watkins Glen, and I am sure we will at Infineon as well, so I just need to run a smart race and make sure I am in front of the people I am chasing in points.”

Carpenter faired a little better than Scheckter last season at Infineon, starting the race in 20th and finishing 15th, but both drivers know that they must have better results this year. Perhaps more importantly, both Carpenter and Scheckter know that they have the right equipment and personnel in place to have a better race at Infineon this year.

As Scheckter put it, “We really have been competitive at all of the road and street courses this season so I really want to capitalize on that at Infineon.”

Look for the Vision Racing cars to make a run at the top-five and the lead as the 80-lap, 184-mile Indy Grand Prix of Sonoma gets started at Infineon Raceway on Sunday afternoon, August 27th. The race will air at 3:30 p.m. (EDT) on ESPN, IMS Radio Network, XM Satellite Radio channel 145 and on the web at www.IndyCar.com.

VISION RACING TAKES SEVENTH AND ELEVENTH AT KENTUCKY

VISION RACING POST-RACE REPORT – Aug. 13, 2006 (Kentucky Speedway)

SPARTA, Ky. – Vision Racing drivers, Tomas Scheckter and Ed Carpenter, both battled setbacks and challenges to finish strong in seventh and 11th, respectively, in the Meijer Indy 300 presented by Coca-Cola and Secret at Kentucky Speedway. This marks the eighth top-ten finish in a row for the team.

Scheckter ran an impressive race and advanced 10 spots to finish seventh in the 300-mile affair after starting from the 17th spot in the No. 2 Vision Racing Dallara/Honda/Firestone. He even ran as high as the fifth position by lap 77. The seventh place run today is Scheckter’s best finish at Kentucky. His previous best finish at the 1.5-mile oval was 10th in 2003.

This is also Scheckter’s sixth top-ten finish of the 2006 IndyCar Series season. The consistency has moved him up yet again in the driver championship point standings from ninth to eighth; the best-ever points position for a Vision Racing entry.

Carpenter got off to a great start after taking the green flag in the 8th spot. It was the third consecutive race that he and the No. 20 Vision Racing Dallara/Honda/Firestone qualified in the top-10 this season. Carpenter quickly jumped up to the fifth position until his first pit stop. Upon leaving the pits after taking four tires and fuel, Carpenter spun on cold tires at pit exit. This brought out the first caution of the race on lap 56.

The mistake cost Carpenter 12 spots as he stayed out and took the green flag in seventeenth. From that point, Carpenter and crew used strategy, determination and a very fast racecar to work back up through the field to finish in the 11th position. The strong effort also moved Carpenter up in the points from 15th to the 14th position.

IndyCar Series action gets underway again on Sunday, August 27th at the road course of Infineon Raceway for the Indy Grand Prix of Sonoma. Both Carpenter and Scheckter look to get the team back into the top-five and score a ninth top-ten finish in a row in the 80-lap/184-mile event. Coverage will air Sunday, Aug. 27, at 3:30 p.m. (EDT) on ESPN, IMS Radio Network, XM Satellite Radio channel 145 and on the web at www.IndyCar.com.

Race Results and Quotes (Aug. 13, 2006):

Meijer Indy 300:
1. Sam Hornish, Jr. – No. 6 Marlboro Team Penske 2. Scott Dixon – No. 9 Target Chip Ganassi Racing 3. Helio Castroneves – No. 3 Marlboro Team Penske 7. Tomas Scheckter– No. 2 Vision Racing Dallara/Honda/Firestone (Started: 17th) 11. Ed Carpenter – No. 20 Vision Racing Dallara/Honda/Firestone (Started: 8th)

-Pole Position: Helio Castroneves – No. 3 Marlboro Team Penske

Tomas Scheckter – No. 2 Vision Racing Dallara/Honda/Firestone

On race:
“It was a good day overall. We qualified 17th and we brought it to seventh so I’m happy with that. I have to thank the guys. They did an unbelievable job on the pit stops. They’ve been working extremely hard and it’s definitely paid off now. I just have got to give credit to everybody on the team for working so hard for this. It was a great team effort to finish seventh today.”

MOMENTUM AND CONSISTENCY ON SIDE OF VISION RACING AT KENTUCKY

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (Aug. 9, 2006) – Vision Racing heads to Kentucky Speedway this weekend looking to continue its trademark of the 2006 IndyCar Series season: momentum and consistency. Drivers Tomas Scheckter and Ed Carpenter have made a habit this season of giving the team ever-improving results at each new track. The unrelenting effort has not only given the team consistent outcomes, but a building momentum which will serve them well this Sunday for the Meijer Indy 300 presented by Coca-Cola and Secret.

The team is celebrating seven top-ten finishes in a row and 11 top-ten finishes by Scheckter and Carpenter in the last seven races. Not to mention, Carpenter gave himself and the team its best-ever start in the last race at Michigan International Speedway; an affair that also saw the team achieve its best collective finish when Scheckter and Carpenter finished fifth and seventh, respectively.

However, the bulk of the momentum for the team stems from Scheckter’s back-to-back top-five finishes in the last two races. In addition to the fifth place run recently at Michigan, the week prior Scheckter gave the team their best-ever finish when he overcame a plethora of obstacles to take third at The Milwaukee Mile.

Another top-five finish this weekend for Scheckter would give him a best finish at Kentucky Speedway, but don’t look for him to be satisfied with just another top-five. Scheckter is aiming to get Vision Racing and the No. 2 Dallara/Honda/Firestone to victory lane for the first time this weekend. In four previous attempts at Kentucky Speedway, Scheckter’s best start and finish came in 2003 when he started seventh and took the checkered flag in tenth.

Scheckter said, “I am looking forward to going back to Kentucky. It’s a fun track that should really provide some great racing. The team and I definitely want to keep our streak of top-five finishes going now, but given our progress in the last couple of races, I really want to get a win this weekend. We’ll just work hard to get a really good racecar again and see what we can do on Sunday.”

With his recent success, Scheckter has made his way back into the top-ten in the driver point standings as well. His seven top-ten finishes and two top-five finishes have propelled him up to ninth in points.

Driving the No. 20 Vision Racing Dallara/Honda/Firestone, Carpenter continues to make his third IndyCar Series season his best. The 2006 season has witnessed Carpenter score his best-ever finish of sixth at Watkins Glen International, his best-ever start of fourth at Michigan International Speedway and five top-ten finishes.

This weekend at Kentucky, Carpenter is contending for a new personal best. His sights are set on his first top-five finish; a feat that would also give the team its third top-five finish in a row.

“When you get used to running up front, then that becomes your expectations,” Carpenter said. “I feel like we should be in the top-five every race. That is easier said than done because of how strong the other top teams are in the series, but our team has a lot of confidence right now, and everyone has been working very hard to continue to perform well. That’s our focus heading into Kentucky.”

Carpenter has two previous attempts at Kentucky Speedway, with a best finish of eighth. In 2004, Carpenter started in 14th and finished in the eighth spot in his rookie season with Cheever Racing. Last year he started in the 21st spot with Vision Racing, but a mechanical failure sent him into the wall and took him out early; leaving him in the 22nd position.

The 200-lap, 400-mile Firestone Indy 400 gets started at Michigan International Speedway on Sunday afternoon, July 30th. The race will air at 3:30 p.m. (EDT) on ABC Sports, IMS Radio Network, XM Satellite Radio channel 145 and on the web at www.IndyCar.com.

SCHECKTER TAKES THIRD AT MILWAUKEE GIVING VISION RACING FIRST-EVER PODIUM FINISH!

VISION RACING POST-RACE REPORT – July 23, 2006 (The Milwaukee Mile)

WEST ALLIS, Wisc. – Adversity was no match for Vision Racing driver, Tomas Scheckter, at The Milwaukee Mile today as he overcame several obstacles to finish third; giving Vision Racing their best-ever finish and first podium since joining the IndyCar Series in 2005. During much of the ABC Supply Co. A.J. Foyt Indy 225, Scheckter persevered through no radio communication, a lost lap, worn tires and an eighth place start to eventually charge through the field from seventh place with 16 laps to go, and finish third for the second straight time at Milwaukee.

Scheckter’s previous best finish for Vision Racing in the 2006 season was a pair of seventh place finishes at Richmond and Kansas. Today’s impressive showing not only gives Vision Racing their sixth top-ten finish in a row and first top-three finish, but also moves Scheckter and the No. 2 Vision Racing Dallara/Honda/Firestone up from 13th to 11th in the point standings.

Scheckter had an exciting day on the one-mile oval as he led lap 74 and had the fastest lap of the race on lap 218 with a speed of 163.885 mph. Scheckter’s IndyCar lap leader count now moves to 1,347 laps led in over four seasons of competition.

MILWAUKEE MILE SITE OF VISION RACING'S NEXT CHANCE AT BEST FINISH

BREAKING INTO THE TOP-FIVE MAIN FOCUS FOR SCHECKTER ON SUNDAY

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (July 19, 2006) - Scheckter wants to come home in a top-five spot at Milwaukee; a feat he nearly accomplished last weekend in Nashville. Driving the No. 2 Vision Racing Dallara/Honda/Firestone at Nashville and starting in the ninth position, Scheckter experienced a driveshaft failure upon leaving the pits around lap 122. He had worked his way through the field and at that point in the race had been running solidly in the fifth spot.

The early exit snapped a streak of four top-10 finishes in a row and gave him his third DNF this season. His last DNF occurred at Indianapolis in May with the other occurring at St. Petersburg in April. The driveshaft failure did not do Scheckter any favors in the point standings either. Heading to Milwaukee, Scheckter has the 13th position in points.

He said, "We had a great run going and everyone on the team did an unbelievable job. I just have to thank Vision Racing, all of our sponsors and thank everybody for giving me a good car. It's just extremely unfortunate for this to happen to us, especially now. In the closing stages of the race we broke a driveshaft while running in the top-five and I had one of the best cars out there. We'll get after it again this week and bounce back from that."

Scheckter knows what it takes to run near the front at The Milwaukee Mile. In two starts there, both with Panther Racing, Scheckter started eighth, but transmission failure left him out of the race in 21st in 2004, and a year later he faired much better as he started and finished in the third spot. In addition, Scheckter has the Vision Racing's best-ever oval finishes, which
also happen to be his best finish this season. They include a pair of seventh place runs at Richmond and Kansas. Improving upon those finishes are his top priority at Milwaukee.

"Milwaukee is a challenging track, but I did well there last year so hopefully I can do that and run up front," Scheckter said. "I really want to get a top-five finish this weekend. We had it in our grasp last weekend at Nashville and to have it taken away after our driveshaft broke was unfortunate. We have had top-five cars consistently these past few races but for whatever reason, we just haven't been able to get up there at the end of the race. I want to change that this weekend at Milwaukee."

The 225-lap, 225-mile ABC Supply Co. A.J. Foyt Indy 225 gets started at The Milwaukee Mile on Sunday afternoon, July 23rd. The race will air at 1:30 p.m. (EDT) on ESPN, IMS Radio Network, XM Satellite Radio channel 145 and on the web at www.IndyCar.com.

VISION RACING GETS FIFTH TOP-10 FINISH IN A ROW; CARPENTER DRIVES TO 10TH PLACE FINISH WHILE SCHECKTER OUT EARLY IN 15TH SPOT

VISION RACING POST-RACE REPORT – July 15, 2006 (Nashville Superspeedway)

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Vision Racing drivers, Ed Carpenter and Tomas Scheckter, raced under the lights on very warm summer evening at Nashville Superspeedway for the Firestone Indy 200 where Carpenter gave the team its fifth top-10 finish in a row with a 10th place run and Scheckter fell victim to a driveshaft failure ending his race early in the 15th spot.

Carpenter earned his fourth top-10 finish in five races and gave the team its fifth in a row as he piloted the #20 Vision Racing Dallara/Honda/Firestone this evening. He was disappointed with his car for much of the weekend, but drove a strong race to get back in the top-10 after starting from the 14th position in the 200-lap, 266-mile affair. This marks back to back 10th place finishes at Nashville for Carpenter.

Prior to the previous race at Kansas Speedway, Carpenter had three top-10 finishes in a row, but issues with the car early in that race kept him out of the top-10. Tonight’s 10th place finish at Nashville not only gives Carpenter four top-10 finishes on the 2006 IndyCar Series season, but is the sixth race in a row that he’s been running at the end. In fact, Carpenter only has one DNF this season which occurred at Japan. The consistent finishes are starting to pay off for Carpenter as he made a jump in points tonight from 16th to 15th.

Unfortunately, Carpenter’s teammate didn’t fair as well. Driving the #2 Vision Racing Dallara/Honda/Firestone and starting in the ninth position, Scheckter experienced a driveshaft failure upon leaving the pits around lap 122. Scheckter had worked his way through the field and at that point in the race had been running solidly in the fifth spot. Should he have been able to keep the run alive, he just might have recorded his best finish of the season and given Vision Racing their first top-five and best finish ever.

Scheckter’s early exit snapped a streak of four top-10 finishes in a row and gave him his third DNF this season. His last DNF occurred at Indianapolis in May with the other occurring at St. Petersburg in April. Tonight’s driveshaft failure did not do Scheckter any favors in the point standings either. Coming into tonights event, he was tied for 12th with Danica Patrick, but goes home in the 13th spot.

IndyCar Series Action gets underway again next Sunday, July 23rd at the famous Milwaukee Mile for the ABC Supply Company A.J. Foyt 225. Both Carpenter and Scheckter will try to avenge for the team’s sixth top-10 finish in a row when the green flag drops on the 225-lap/225-mile event. Firestone Indy 200:
1. Scott Dixon – #9 Target Chip Ganassi Racing 2. Dan Wheldon -- #10 Target Chip Ganassi Racing 3. Vitor Meira– #4 Panther Racing 10. Ed Carpenter – #20 Vision Racing Dallara/Honda/Firestone (Started: 14th) 15. Tomas Scheckter #2 Vision Racing Dallara/Honda/Firestone (Started 9th)

-Pole Position: Dan Wheldon – #10 Target Chip Ganassi Racing

Ed Carpenter – #20 Vision Racing Dallara/Honda/Firestone

On race:
“The race was okay. My car was pretty good early. I think we just had a little too much downforce and didn’t quite have enough speed. We made the distance and finish in the top-10 so that’s good. It wasn’t exactly pretty and things could have went a little better. We got caught behind the leader once on the yellow and that hurt us, but all in all it was okay.”

VISION RACING TO START NINTH AND 14th AT NASHVILLE SUPERSPEEDWAY

VISION RACING PRACTICE AND QUALIFYING REPORT
July 14, 2006 (Nashville Superspeedway)

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Vision Racing drivers, Tomas Scheckter and Ed Carpenter, qualified ninth and 14th, respectively, on a very warm afternoon at the Nashville Superspeedway in preparation for Saturday's Firestone Indy 200. When the green flag drops on tomorrow's 200-lap/266-mile event, Scheckter will look to finish in the top-10 for the fifth race in a row and Carpenter will look to start a new streak of top-10s.

Scheckter earned his fourth top-10 start of the 2006 IndyCar Season on the 1.3-mile concrete oval at Nashville and he hopes that starting in the top ten is a prelude to finishing in the top-10. Scheckter is challenging for his fifth top-10 finish in a row after recording a pair of seventh place finishes at Kansas and Richmond and finishing in 10th both at Texas and Watkins Glen. Scheckter qualified today in the ninth spot with a two-lap average speed of 200.426 mph. His best finish at Nashville is 10th, of which he scored in 2003.

Scheckter has had a good day at Nashville thus far. He has completed strong, consistent runs all day and was eighth quick overall in the two practice sessions before qualifying. He will return to the track this evening in the #2 Vision Racing Dallara/Honda/Firestone for a full-fuel, 30-minute practice session which will be his last time on track before tomorrow evening's race.

Carpenter was not as happy with his car, the #20 Vision Racing
Dallara/Honda/Firestone, as he qualified in the 14th spot. Carpenter's two-lap qualifying speed of 199.512 mph is actually his fastest of the weekend thus far, but he is still not satisfied with the result.

Prior to the last race at Kansas, Carpenter had three top-10 finishes in a row and he is urgently working to start a new streak at Nashville. In fact, Carpenter recorded his career-best and the team's best finish in the 6th spot at Watkins Glen this season. Last year at Nashville with Vision Racing, Carpenter started from the 22nd position and finished in what was the team's
highest finish of 2005 in the 10th spot. He will attempt to meet or beat that finish by finding more speed in tonight's 30-minute practice session before taking the green flag tomorrow.

The Firestone Indy 200 at Nashville Superspeedway will air Saturday evening, July 15th, at 9:00 p.m. (EDT) on ESPN, IMS Radio Network, XM Satellite Radio channel 145 and on the web at www.IndyCar.com.

Qualifying/Practice Results and Quotes: (July 14, 2006)

Tomas Scheckter - #2 Vision Racing Dallara/Honda/Firestone Starting Position: 9th Qualifying Speed: 200.426 mph average Top Speed in Practice: 200.688 mph Overall Rank in Practice: 8th on speed chart Pole Position: Dan Wheldon (No. 10 - Target Chip Ganassi Racing)

On qualifying and practice:
"The team has done a good job today. We really put our heads together during practice to get the car up to speed and everyone did a good job to get us where we are now. Obviously, we still need to go out and find a little more speed, but overall I'm happy with that and I'm hoping that by starting in the top-10 we'll finish again in the top-10."

SCHECKTER RECORDS BACK-TO-BACK SEVENTH PLACE FINISH GIVING VISION RACING FOURTH TOP-10 FINISH IN A ROW; CARPENTER OVERCOMES ADVERSITY TO FINISH RACE IN 16TH

VISION RACING POST-RACE REPORT – July 2, 2006 (Kansas Speedway)

KANSAS CITY, Kansas – Vision Racing drivers, Tomas Scheckter and Ed Carpenter, battled warm afternoon temperatures, high-speed Indy Car Series traffic and even mechanical issues to finish the Kansas Lottery Indy 300 at Kansas Speedway in seventh and 16th, respectively.

Scheckter earned his fourth top-10 finish in a row and back to back seventh place finish in the #2 Vision Racing Dallara/Honda/Firestone. Scheckter started the race from the eighth spot and ran as high as fifth in the 200-lap, 300-mile affair.

Scheckter’s consistent performances of late have moved him from 13th in the IndyCar Series standings to a 12th place tie with Danica Patrick. This seventh place finish matches his finish last weekend under the lights at Richmond International Raceway; also Scheckter’s best of the 2006 season.

Carpenter looked good early despite experiencing trouble on Saturday during practice and qualifying. After a successful first practice session on Saturday, Carpenter was not happy with the #20 Vision Racing Dallara/Honda/Firestone in the second practice session and qualifying, where he was 16th quick. However, the crew worked tirelessly and had the car back up to speed and ready for race day.

At the drop of the green flag, Carpenter charged hard up through the field and ran as high as eighth. His tenacity behind the wheel had him in position to record his fourth top-10 in a row as well, but an issue with the car on lap 37 brought Carpenter in early. The team worked on the car quickly to fix the problem and get Carpenter back on track where he held on to complete the race 11 laps down in the 16th spot. Carpenter remains in the 16th spot in the IndyCar Series points standings.

Both Carpenter and Scheckter will enjoy a week off and be ready to avenge for the team’s fifth top-10 in a row when the IndyCar Series resumes at Nashville Superspeedway for Firestone Indy 200. The 200-lap/266-mile event will air July 15th, at 9:00 p.m. (EDT) on ESPN, IMS Radio Network, XM Satellite Radio channel 145 and on the web at www.IndyCar.com.

Race Results and Quotes (July 2, 2006):

Kansas Lottery Indy 300:
1. Sam Hornish, Jr. – #6 Marlboro Team Penske 2. Dan Wheldon -- #10 Target Chip Ganassi Racing 3. Vitor Meira– #4 Panther Racing 7. Tomas Scheckter #2 Vision Racing Dallara/Honda/Firestone (Started 8th) 16. Ed Carpenter – #20 Vision Racing Dallara/Honda/Firestone (Started: 16th)

-Pole Position: Dan Wheldon – #10 Target Chip Ganassi Racing

Tomas Scheckter – #2 Vision Racing Dallara/Honda/Firestone

On race:
"I think that’s one of the better races we’ve had. The team has really done a good job. We came to Kansas with a decent setup and maybe ran a little too much downforce at the end, but overall we had a good car. We needed another yellow there right at the end for me to race with the leaders, because with the lapped traffic in between it was really difficult to catch up and battle for position. But overall, it was a really good race weekend for us and hopefully we can keep the momentum going at Nashville.”

Ed Carpenter – #20 Vision Racing Dallara/Honda/Firestone

VISION RACING TO START 8th AND 16th AT KANSAS SPEEDWAY

VISION RACING PRACTICE AND QUALIFYING REPORT – July 1, 2006 (Kansas Speedway)

KANSAS CITY, Kansas – Vision Racing drivers, Tomas Scheckter and Ed Carpenter, qualified 8th and 16th, respectively, on the sun-drenched Kansas Speedway in preparation for Sunday’s Kansas Lottery Indy 300. When the green flag drops on tomorrow’s 200 lap/300 mile event, both Scheckter and Carpenter look to finish in the top-10 for the fourth race in a row.

Scheckter hopes he can improve upon his best finish at Kansas which he scored last year for Panther Racing when he was fifth. A run like that would not only extend his streak of top-10 finishes, but give Vision Racing their best-ever finish as well. Scheckter is well on his way to doing that by completing strong, consistent runs all day. In the morning practice sessions he was seventh quick overall; turning 82 laps and a top speed of 211.520 mph. He then went out for qualifying this afternoon and posted the eighth fastest two-lap average of 210.409 mph in the #2 Vision Racing Dallara/Honda/Firestone.

However, Scheckter’s teammate did not experience the same good fortune. After a successful first practice session, Carpenter was not happy with the #20 Vision Racing Dallara/Honda/Firestone in the second practice session and qualifying. Although, Carpenter’s best speed in 97 laps of practice was 210.913 mph, which was the 10th fastest practice speed on the day.

In addition to disappointing results for the second practice session where Carpenter was 18th in the field, he was not able to go out initially for his qualifying attempt after the crew reported a water leak with the car. The crew rallied to fix the problem, allowing Carpenter to complete one lap of qualifying at the end of the qualifying session. His qualifying speed was 16th best at 208.629 mph.

The team will now work to get Carpenter’s machine back up to speed prior to tomorrow morning’s warm-up session and give both Carpenter and Scheckter the strong cars they need to make another run at a top-10 finish. The Kansas Lottery Indy 300 at Kansas Speedway will air Sunday afternoon, July 2nd, at 1:00 p.m. (EDT) on ABC Sports, IMS Radio Network, XM Satellite Radio channel 145 and on the web at www.IndyCar.com.

Qualifying/Practice Results and Quotes: (July 1, 2006)

Tomas Scheckter – #2 Vision Racing Dallara/Honda/Firestone Starting Position: 8th Qualifying Speed: 210.409 mph average Top Speed in Practice: 211.520 mph Total Practice Laps: 82 laps Overall Rank in Practice: 7th on speed chart Pole Position: Dan Wheldon (No. 10 – Target Chip Ganassi Racing)

On qualifying and practice:
“I thought that I would run a little bit better than that, so that’s disappointing, but the fact that we are starting in the top-10 still has me happy with the run overall. We had productive practice sessions today and we were able to really dial in our race setups and I’m happy with our car for the race. I’m looking forward to a good race. It’s going to be a different Kansas race than what we are used to because I think we’ll be a little more strung out on the track, but I’m looking forward to it.”

VISION RACING HAS STRONG RUN AT RICHMOND CAPTURING THIRD TOP-10 FINISHES IN A ROW

VISION RACING POST-RACE REPORT – June 24, 2006 ( Richmond International Raceway)

RICHMOND, Virginia – Vision Racing drivers, Tomas Scheckter and Ed Carpenter, each earned their third top-10 finish in a row with a strong run under the lights at Richmond International Raceway for the SunTrust Indy Challenge presented by XM Satellite Radio.

Scheckter earned his third top-10 finish in the #2 Vision Racing Dallara/Honda/Firestone ending the race in the seventh spot tonight after starting from row six and in 12 th place. Due to rain at the track on Friday, qualifying was a wash out so the starting grid was set by combined practice speeds.

Scheckter is on a bit of a roll heading into the Kansas Lottery Indy 300 at Kansas Speedway. In the last three races he’s had a 10 th place finish at Watkins Glen and Texas and now seventh at Richmond. He’s also made a jump in the driver’s points standings from 14 th to 13 th. The seventh place finish Scheckter earned tonight is also his best of the 2006 IndyCar Series season.

Carpenter also earned his third top-10 finish in a row this a season in the #20 Vision Racing Dallara/Honda/Firestone, by securing the eighth spot at Richmond. This also happens to be Carpenter’s best finish at Richmond in an IndyCar. His previous best finish was 12 th in 2005, also with Vision Racing.

Like his teammate, Carpenter is also on a bit of a roll of late. At Indianapolis, Carpenter finished in the 11 th spot for the second year in a row before heading to Watkins Glen and scoring his career-best and a team-high finish of sixth. From there it was off to Texas where he ran under the lights to finish in the ninth position and then to Richmond where another strong run put Carpenter in the top-10. Carpenter remains in the 16 th spot in the driver’s points standings for the second week in a row.

Both Carpenter and Scheckter will look to make it four top-10 finishes in a row for the season and challenge for Vision Racing’s first victory in the IndyCar Series at Kansas Speedway for the Kansas Lottery Indy 300. The 200-lap/300-mile event will air Sunday, July 2 nd, at 1:00 p.m. (EDT) on ABC Sports, IMS Radio Network, XM Satellite Radio channel 145 and on the web at www.IndyCar.com.

VISION RACING SECURES SPOT IN TOP-10 IN TEST AT RICHMOND

VISION RACING OPEN TEST REPORT – June 22, 2006 (Richmond International Raceway)

RICHMOND, Virginia – It’s another hot weekend for the IndyCar Series as they travel to Richmond International Raceway for the SunTrust Indy Challenge presented by XM Satellite Radio and Vision Racing battled the heat well; recording the ninth and 12th quickest speeds.

Temperatures broke into the upper 90s at the track today, but the heat was no match for Vision Racing. The team took advantage of a four-hour open test session to complete a total of 223 laps on the day.

Carpenter led the way for the team with the ninth quickest speed of the day at 167.627 mph in the #20 Vision Racing Dallara/Honda/Firestone. Carpenter completed a total of 102 laps in preparation for the 250-lap event to occur on Saturday evening.

It’s no surprise that Carpenter faired well today as the bullring-style, 0.75-mile oval matches Carpenter’s technique well. Growing up on America’s short tracks, racing midgets, sprint cars and Silver Crown cars as a part of the United States Auto Club (USAC), Carpenter thrives on the style of racing that short tracks produce.

While Carpenter only has two IndyCar Series starts at Richmond, both of which he finished in the 16th spot, this will not be just the third time he’s piloted a car there. In 2002 and 2003, Carpenter drove a Silver Crown car at Richmond, with impressive second and third place finishes. In addition, in his first start in an IndyCar at Richmond, he ran as high as fifth before being taken out late in the race.

Recording the 12th quickest time, Scheckter got the #2 Vision Racing Dallara/Honda/Firestone up to a top speed of 165.833 mph and completed a total of 121 laps. Scheckter knows what it takes to run up-front at Richmond. In his four starts at the track, Scheckter has finished fourth two different times; the first time occurring in his first attempt at the track in 2002 with Cheever Racing and most recently just this past season with Panther Racing.. His best start is fifth in 2004, also with Panther Racing, and his average finish at the track is 10.8.

The 250-lap, 187.5-mile SunTrust Indy Challenge presented by XM Radio gets started under the lights at Richmond International Raceway on Saturday, June 24th. The race will air at 8:00 p.m. (EDT) on ESPN2, IMS Radio Network, XM Satellite Radio channel 145 and on the web at www.IndyCar.com.

Open Test Results and Quotes: (June 22, 2006)

Ed Carpenter – #20 Vision Racing Dallara/Honda/Firestone Top Speed in Test: 167.627 mph Speed Chart Position: 9th Total Laps in Test: 102 laps Top Speed: 171.407 mph – Sam Hornish Jr. (No. 6 – Marlboro Team Penske)

On test:
“It’s been a good test. We started out and I wasn’t exactly happy with the car. It (the car) was doing a couple of things that were funny, but we stayed out there and tuned on it a bit and made a lot of progress. There at the end the car was really good and it felt really consistent as far as a racecar is concerned. We worked through a lot of stuff. I’m sure that once we go back and look at the data, we’ll come up with some more ideas as to how to improve the car. It was a pretty good test with it just being a half day, so I stayed out there and sweated it out in the car. I definitely found out a lot about the car and it feels a lot different than the car I had here last year. It feels like a good racecar so it should be good for Saturday night.”

Tomas Scheckter – #2 Vision Racing Dallara/Honda/Firestone Top Speed in Test: 165.833 mph

VISION RACING CAPTURES SECOND TOP TEN IN A ROW WITH CARPENTER IN 9TH AND SCHECKTER 10TH AT TEXAS

FT. WORTH, Texas -- Vision Racing driver and defending Texas Motor Speedway champion, Tomas Scheckter, ran as high as fifth during the race and rounded out the top ten for the second week in a row in the #2 Rock & Republic Vision Racing Dallara/Honda/Firestone. This is also the second week in a row and second time ever that Vision Racing has finished both entries in the top 10 as Ed Carpenter finished ninth in the #20 Rock & Republic Vision Racing Dallara/Honda/Firestone).

Scheckter started in the fifth spot and mixed it up in the top 10 for much of the race as well. The long stretch of consecutive green flag laps allowed the field to spread out and also caught Scheckter out of the lead pace for the final laps.

Both Scheckter and Carpenter have jumped up in the point standings due to their back to back top ten finishes. Scheckter is now tied for the 14th spot with Buddy Rice and Carpenter has moved up to the 16th position.

The IndyCar Series will enjoy a week off before heading back east for the SunTrust Indy Challenge at Richmond International Raceway. This short track in Richmond, Virginia will host 250 laps/187.5 miles and will air Saturday evening, June 24th, at 8:00 p.m. (EDT) on ESPN2, IMS Radio Network, XM Satellite Radio channel 145 and on the web at www.IndyCar.com.

Tomas Scheckter -- #2 Vision Racing Dallara/Honda/Firestone

On race:
"The race was up and down for us. I think we were a little bit better than what we showed out there. We messed up a little bit with the downforce in the beginning, but we learned from it. The cars finished in the top ten again this week and we've got to be happy with that. The guys worked hard to give me a good car and this is probably some of the best we've looked all year so I'm optimistic heading in to the rest of the season."

VISION RACING PRACTICE AND QUALIFYING REPORT – June 8, 2006

( Texas Motor Speedway )

FT. WORTH , Texas – Vision Racing's Tomas Scheckter looks to repeat win at Texas Motor Speedway by qualifying his Rock & Republic car in the top-five, while Ed Carpenter will start the Bombardier Learjet 500k from the 12 th spot.

Coming off the team's highest finish of sixth scored by Carpenter last weekend at Watkins Glen International, Scheckter has now recorded the team's highest qualifying spot by putting the #2 Rock & Republic Vision Racing Dallara/Honda/Firestone in the fifth position. The previous best qualifying position for Vision Racing was also scored by Scheckter at St. Petersburg this season when he started eighth.

Scheckter started from the pole last year at Texas for Panther Racing where he led 119 laps and drove to victory on the 1.5-mile oval. The defending champion has also started from the pole a total of three times at Texas Motor Speedway. VISION RACING TO ROCK ON WITH PARTNER ROCK & REPUBLIC

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (June 7, 2006) – Coming off an exhilarating month of May and a poignant running of the 90th running of the Indianapolis 500, the partnership formed between Vision Racing and Rock & Republic will ride again for the Bombardier Learjet 500 which will run under the lights at Texas Motor Speedway this Saturday evening at Texas Motor Speedway. The partnership forged at Indianapolis will also extend to additional races in 2006.

Racing under the lights at the Texas Motor Speedway makes this race one of the most exciting of the IndyCar season. Wheel to wheel racing at the Bombardier Learjet 500 has produced such notable winners Tony Kanaan and Al Unser Jr.; and racing legends Scott Goodyear and Arie Luyendyk. Four of the top-20 closest IndyCar finishes have been at Texas Motor Speedway in the June race. Defending champion and current Vision Racing Rock & Republic driver, Tomas Scheckter, had a photo finish last year in front of Sam Hornish Jr. in one of the closest finishes in IRL history. Scheckter won the 2005 race from the pole, leading 119 of the 200 laps.

At this Saturday’s race Scheckter will be piloting the Rock & Republic branded Dallara/Honda/Firestone which was driven by Townsend Bell in the 90th running of the Indianapolis 500 last month. Coming off a top-10 finish at last weekend’s race at Watkins Glen International, Scheckter is an early favorite to defend his title.

Ed Carpenter will again be driving the Vision Racing / Rock & Republic #20 Honda Firestone Dallara. With an impressive 11th place finish in the Indianapolis 500 and a 6th place finish in Sunday’s Watkins Glen Indy Grand Prix, Carpenter is certainly primed for an outstanding performance under the lights in Texas. Growing up racing sprint cars and midgets under the lights, this race suits Carpenter’s driving style and gives him a distinct advantage going into this weekend.

In addition, the parties are identifying opportunities that may give rise for the return of driver Townsend Bell to rejoin the team in a third entry for select races later this season. Bell joined Vision Racing with Rock & Republic for the month of May, driving the Rock & Republic Vision Racing #90 Dallara/Honda/Firestone for the 90th running of the Indianapolis 500. He started 15th in the event, ran as high as eighth and was forced to retire late in the race and settle for 22nd position.

By all accounts, the two organizations successfully realized the objectives set for the month, despite finishing the race itself with results below expectations. The partnership not only allowed Vision Racing to run three entries in the Indianapolis 500, but also forged a new sponsorship; linking motorsports with fashion, entertainment and celebrities. Both Vision Racing and Rock & Republic hope to continue the momentum created at Indy by extending the partnership for the remainder of 2006 with an eye toward a full program in 2007.

Vision Racing co-owner Tony George said, “We have a very dedicated group at Vision and I was very proud of our team for putting a competitive, three-car effort on track for the entire month of May. It would not have been possible to do in three weeks, as we did, without a dedicated, focused and committed partner like Rock & Republic."

Defining the meaning of the rock ‘n roll style, Rock & Republic is known for it’s cutting-edge fashion and appeal amongst A-list celebrities. Along with Vision Racing, Rock & Republic plans on bringing that same Hollywood appeal to the IndyCar Series just as they did at the Brickyard.

Rock & Republic CEO/Owner/Chief Designer Michael Ball said, “We’re excited about continuing our affiliation with Tony and Laura George and the Vision Racing team for Texas. They understand the rock and roll edge of our branding strategy and we’re looking forward to the potential of this ground breaking collaboration. Premium motor sports are a key component of our global branding initiative and it’s a great fit with Rock & Republic’s lifestyle brand.”

The Rock & Republic Vision Racing collaboration exemplifies the combination of a premium/luxe lifestyle brand with the highest level of professional open wheel motorsports. The frenzy created by the debut of ultra-cool custom made Rock & Republic gear at the Indy 500 will continue this weekend in Texas. The entire team will don the popular R&R skull logo apparel and equipment.

With the gleam of the cars under the lights, Rock & Republic’s premium/luxe presence, the electricity of the crowd and the intense high speed action on the high-banked oval of the Texas Motor Speedway, this weekend’s race will be a truly amazing event. For the Vision Racing, Rock & Republic and the IndyCar Series, that’s a perfect fit in more ways that one.

WATKINS GLEN, New York – Vision Racing driver Ed Carpenter had his career best and team best IndyCar Series finish of sixth today at Watkins Glen International. Carpenter's teammate, Tomas Scheckter, ran as high as first during the Watkins Glen Indy Grand Prix and rounded out the top ten, giving Vision Racing its first top ten finish by both entries.

Overcast, cool and wet conditions not only plagued the day's race, but much of the entire race weekend, thus canceling qualifying and leaving teams to start the race based on the combined practice speeds from Friday's practice sessions.

Scheckter started the race from the 15 th spot and pitted quickly on lap four to become the first driver in the race to change from wet tires to dry slick tires. By the 10 th lap, Scheckter was in the top spot and led a total of 12 laps. Scheckter raced in the top 10 for much of the race, but a couple of slide offs late in the race dropped him back to 11 th . He was actually in the 4 th spot when the small amount of rain fell again briefly for the end, causing him to slide off and fall back to the 11 th position on lap 53. Scheckter rebounded well to finish the race in 10 th .

Leaving the scenic Finger Lakes region of New York , the IndyCar Series now heads southwest to the Texas Motor Speedway for the Bombardier Learjet 500. Scheckter is 15 th in the entrant point standings while Carpenter is in the 18 th spot. Round six of the Indy Racing League IndyCar Series, the Bombardier Learjet 500 at Texas Motor Speedway will air next Saturday evening at 8:00 p.m. (EDT) on ESPN, IMS Radio Network, XM Satellite Radio channel 145 and on the web at www.IndyCar.com.

Tomas Scheckter – #2 Vision Racing Dallara/Honda/Firestone

On race:
"It was tough with the weather and the slicks gave us an advantage at the beginning. I was able to run well for most of it and then towards the end I got caught up in some of those yellows. I lost it and by that point the race was nearly over so that hurt us after we ran so well all day. We had a great car and while we didn't come away with what we wanted, in the end it was a good job for all of us on the team."

Larry Curry – Vision Racing Team Manager

On race:

“All the work we put in yesterday when the conditions were like they are today, when nobody thought it was worthwhile to run, really paid off for us today. We were right where we needed to be, but unfortunately we didn't get the desired result. However, we did get both cars in the top 10, Ed had and outstanding day and it was just an outstanding day for all of us.”

CARPENTER MATCHES HIS INDY BEST FOR SECOND YEAR FINISHING 11 TH FOR VISION RACING; SCHECKTER AND BELL STRONG BUT FAIL TO FINISH

VISION RACING INDIANAPOLIS 500 POST-RACE REPORT – May 28, 2006

( Indianapolis Motor Speedway )

SPEEDWAY, Indiana – Ed Carpenter led the way for the Vision Racing's Rock & Republic sponsored, Honda powered Dallaras in the 90 th running of the Indianapolis 500 with an 11 th place finish, his second in row at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

Carpenter drove his #20 Vision Racing Dallara/Honda/Firestone from the 12 th spot, his highest starting position at Indianapolis, to the top 10 for much of the latter part of the race until an untimely caution forced him to pit when he was running in the ninth position. Taking the green flag for the last five laps, Carpenter jumped from 12 th to 11 th where he finished. Carpenter ran as high as eighth in the race.

Townsend Bell in the #90 Rock & Republic Vision Racing Dallara/Honda/Firestone also ran in the top 10 for much of his race until an ill-fated move forced him to retire on lap 161, leaving him in the 22 nd position. Bell ran as high as eighth and was in the 13 th spot when he tried to avoid race victor, Sam Hornish Jr. in pit lane and struck a cone that bent his left front suspension. Bell was competing in his first Indianapolis 500.

Tomas Scheckter in the #2 Vision Racing Dallara/Honda/Firestone ran the highest of any Vision Racing driver today by capturing the fourth spot on lap 52. He ran in the top six for much of his race until he went low in turn four on lap 67 and spun out, striking the turn four wall and attenuator on pit lane.

Heading into the next race, the Watkins Glen Indy Grand Prix at Watkins Glen International, Scheckter is 14 th in the entrant point standings while Carpenter is in the 19 th spot. The race will air at 3:30 p.m. (EDT) on ABC Sports, IMS Radio Network, XM Satellite Radio channel 145 and on the web at www.IndyCar.com.
